Nestled in North Kohala are the small historical villages of Hawi and Kapa'au. Beneath the simple and charming exterior of these former sugar plantation towns lies a deep and rich history of pioneers, leaders, luminaries, and enlightened individuals that have called this region home, including King Kamehameha himself.
